Meet the specialist

Dr Claire Bailey

Claire is a Consultant Gynaecologist and vulval specialist who has completed advanced training in vulval disease with The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She is an accredited colposcopist with The British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and is a Member, Seminar Leader and Examiner with The Institute of Psychosexual Medicine.

Claire feels passionately about improving education around vulval disorders and the cervical screening programme to patients and health professionals. She is regularly invited to speak on these topics to GPs, nurses and gynaecologists, including on a national basis.

Claire is aware that so many women struggle with vulval symptoms and are embarrassed to seek medical help or, when they do, feel that their issues are not taken seriously. Claire understands how debilitating vulval disease can be and how it can impact on an individual’s general well being and strives to improve the quality of life for women with vulval conditions.

When not at work, Claire enjoys trips to the coast with her family in their vintage camper van (assuming it doesn’t break down en route).
